Singapore Chef Tax

IRAS compliant · YA 2024/2025 rates

As a culinary professional in Singapore — whether you're a head chef, sous chef, or self-employed caterer — your income is subject to progressive resident tax rates. Understanding deductions can save you thousands.

  • Chef uniforms & kitchen clogs — fully deductible work essentials
  • Certification courses (WSQ, culinary diplomas, food safety)
  • Specialised knives, tools & recipe development
  • Self-employed: ingredients for R&D, transport, equipment

Progressive resident tax rates (YA 2024):
First S$20,000 → 0% | Next S$10,000 → 2% | Next S$10,000 → 3.5% | Next S$40,000 → 7%

Note: This tool estimates personal income tax for resident individuals. Self-employed chefs may also claim CPF relief and Medisave. Always refer to IRAS official filing.
